TruStage offers no medical exam life insurance products with instant approval, which many people are looking for, especially in these times of Covid-19. The policies are offered through CUNA Mutual Group (Credit Union National Association). TruStage has helped over 20 million clients and works with some of the nation’s largest credit unions.

Pros:
- Size and history– As of 2021, the number of credit union members served by the TruStage insurance program totals over 20 million which includes; term life insurance, whole life insurance, guaranteed acceptance life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D). They also offer other insurance products as well such as auto, home and health insurance. CUNA Mutual Group (The apparent company of TruStage) has been in business for over 85 years.
- No Medical Exam and Quick Approval– The life insurance products from TruStage do not require a medical exam and the underwriting and coverage is done very quickly and easily online.
- Financial Rating– The life insurance that underwrites Trustage is CMFG Life Insurance Company which has an ‘A’ Excellent financial rating from A.M. Best.
Cons:
- Rates tend to be higher than what is available on the open market. Also, for their term product, the rates increase with each age group band (i.e. age 25, age 30, age 35, age 40, age 45, age 50, age 55, age 60, age 65, age 70, age 75 and ends at age 80). Also, the maximum amount of coverage TruStage offers is relatively low for those needing larger amounts of coverage.
