Ohio National Life Insurance Company Review

Pros: Price: Ohio National often has the absolute lowest rates in the nation.  Out of 900+ life insurance companies Ohio National is often at the #1 spot with the best price.  Financial Strength- Ohio National is A+ (Superior) rated by A.M. Best.  Stability- Ohio National has been insuring families for over 100 years.

Cons: A potential issue for some will be their underwriting. Since Ohio National’s prices are so low, their underwriting tends to be fairly conservative which can ultimately lead to a higher price after the medical exam and underwriting process is complete.

Bottom Line:  Ohio National is one of the best life insurance companies in the country, bar none.  Their rates are often the absolute lowest of any insurer in the country.  In addition to having the best rates on life insurance, Ohio National is a mutual insurer which some people prefer.  A potential downside to applying with Ohio National is their underwriting.  Their underwriting can be more stringent than other insurers with the same financial rating and similar prices.  This can lead to a higher rate after the underwriting process is complete.  With that being said, if you’re in the market for life insurance Ohio National is definitely a company to take a look at.

  1. Don’t get bogged down in ratings, their Preferred is often better than others preferred plus. More importantly if you take the term plus product you can convert to top rated Universal Life and Whole Life. Flexibility to convert to quality products is an added value few understand and many need.
